A BIT ABOUT ME...

Hey I’m Chloe!
I was born in Bristol at a family wedding after-party 24 years ago. I grew up in Rye Harbour, East Sussex on the coast. Growing up I would be mostly drawing, playing video games, making things from Art Attack or reading.
After school I went to Sussex Coast College, Hastings. This is where I did an Art and Design BTEC course for 3 years and received 2 Distinction grades. I then went on to do a Foundation Diploma course for a year and received another Distinction grade.
I decided to pursue a 3 year, BA Illustration course at Norwich University of the Arts and moved 170 miles away to Norwich in 2018. After graduating in Sept 2021 I moved to Hastings and this is where I plan on staying for now with my boyfriend :)
I've taken part in the NUA christmas market and the ‘Fierce Babes’ makers market in my time at university. I sold posters, prints, postcards and made my own sticker. I started to learn how to be a freelance illustrator from university lectures and the people I met in the creative community in Norwich.
I enjoy making narrative and satirical illustration, publications (zines, booklets), infographics and prints. I’m a researcher, a problem solver and an ideas maker. My strengths include colour, composition and attention to detail. My interests and passions lie within an expansive range of artistic practises.
Interior Design, Curation, Architecture, Surface/ Product/ Graphic Design, Advertising, Comics, Illustration, Infographics, Typography, Clay modelling, Screenprinting, Painting, Woodwork, Metalwork, Botany, Collage and Photography.
I strive to learn new skills wherever I can and enjoy learning new information. I’m a very independent person and prefer to work alone in my own, curated desk space, surrounded by things that I love and inspire me.
Despite this, I’m able to work in a team effectively and can easily and happily step into a leadership role when needed to. I am very good at communicating; giving my opinion openly and honestly, in peer to peer critiques and discussions.
I enjoy being part of online communities and speaking my opinion on social, political and economic topics happening in the world. I'm passionate about honesty, equality, political and global issues, climate change and justice. I’m learning to speak my opinion through my art and words.
